If you are looking for the latest updated Wilds of Eldraine tier list limited then this article is going to guide you all.
Wilds of Eldraine Tier List Limited Explained
The new draft format has proven to be something more in the unpredictable line. It will soon emerge among the most aggressive formats in the recent past. Thus, in performing the play in the early stages, it is better to have both proactive and reactive plays as otherwise, the punishment will be there.
This set is reminiscent of the olden days of Limited formats, which makes the application of the BREAD method successful. Focus on card-drawing abilities, use tech cards for defense, and allow yourself to attack, since using active defenses is hard.
After looking at the above points, I now present my classroom-rated revised list of Wilds of Eldraine Tier List Limited. So, you will see double arrows next to each card telling you whether their rating is up or down. This article will discuss some of the very few tough suits and weak cards in groupings.
White
Hopeful Vigil: B → A-
- Enchantment
- During entering the battle, Hopeful Vigil creates a 2/2 white Soldier creature token with Vigilance.
- When Hopeful Vigil the graveyard sends the scry card from the battlefield by 2.
- {2}{W}: Sacrifice Hopeful Vigil.
The Princess Takes Flight: C → B+
- Enchantment Saga
- (As this Saga after your draw step enters and it sacrifices after III.)
- Exile the creature up to one target.
- The target creature of the controller gets +2/+2 and gets flying until the end of the turn.
- Exchange the exiled card for a card from outside of the battlefield that belongs to your opponent.
Knight of Doves: B- → D
- Creature — Human Knight.
- Each time that a charmed you own is discarded from the battlefield into a graveyard.
- Bring a 1/1 user-colored Bird Creature token with flying.
- 1/3.
A Tale for the Ages: A+ → D+
- Enchantment
- Enchanted creatures you control get +2/+2.
Moonshaker Cavalry: S → D+
- Creature — Spirit Knight
Flying
Whenever Moonshaker Cavalry arrives on the battlefield, - your creatures en masse fly the skies getting +X/+X till the end of the turn.
- where X denotes the number of creatures you control.
6/6
Considering the above points, I want to share the new shuffle ratings; Tier List of Eldraine Wilds. Next to each card, you will see arrows, which imply that they either had an increase or decrease in their rating. In this article, I will highlight the most outstanding cards from each group, including overachievers and underachievers.
Blue
Vantress Transmuter: C- → B-
- Creature — Human Wizard
- 3/4
- Croaking Curse {1}{U}
- Sorcery — Adventure
- Tap target creature. Thus, add a Cursed Role card associated with it. (Enchanted creature is 1/1.)
Sleep-Cursed Faerie: D → B
- Creature — Faerie Wizard
- Flying, ward {2}
- Countering the Sleep-Cursed Faerie sends the card into battlefield non-mana activated with three stun tokens on it. (Specify in case this card would be untapped, decrease a stun counter from it a little bit instead.)
- {1}{U}: Untap Sleep-Cursed Faerie.
- 3/3
Extraordinary Journey: C+ → B
- Enchantment
- When Extraordinary Journey comes into the field of battle, exile up to X target creatures. This is true. The owner will get a card for as long as it stays exiled here.
- Each time one or more non-Token creatures are being cast into the battlefield, a prompt appears for a card draw if they underwent an exile or came from the exile. Such a blessing is activated only once per turn.
Quick Study: B → C-
- Instant
- Draw two cards.
Chancellor of Tales: A → B-
- Creature — Faerie Advisor
- Flying
- Casting an Adventure spell allows you to duplicate and play it as well. It could be the copy part which you take first.
- 2/3
A Tale for the Ages and Knight of Doves cards of white color has not been yielding good returns. Paying attention to the quality of individual cards was as important as to the availability of Titles such as Hopeful Vigil, which was tested and proved to be a good commoner in white. Do not forget one thing about them – their love for black-white enchantments.
Black
Hopeless Nightmare: C- → B
- Enchantment
- When Hopeless Nightmare comes into life, each opponent discards any card of his choice and loses 2 life marks.
- The graveyard effect of the card Hopeless Nightmare is to scry 2 when it goes to the graveyard from the battlefield.
- {2}{B}: Sacrifice Hopeless Nightmare.
Mintstrosity: C- → B-
- Creature — Horror
- When Mintstrosity is in death, make a Food token. (It’s an artifact with “{2}, {T}, Sacrifice this artifact: “You gain X life.
- 3/1
Warehouse Tabby: B → D+
- Creature — Cat
- When you exile one of your enchantments from the graveyard to the game with you, you make a black 1/1 Rat creature token. This token is unable to block.
- {1}{B}: Warehouse Tabby gains deathtouch until the end of turn.
- 1/1
Wicked Visitor: C+ → D
- Creature — Nightmare
- Anytime an enchantment winds up in a graveyard from a battlefield area, each of your opponents will lose 1 life point.
- 2/2
Sugar Rush: C → D-
- Instant
- Target creature gets +3/+0 until end of turn.
- Draw a card.
For the Hopeless Nightmare, in black, one can hardly find a card more sophisticated and cost-effective to use alone. Although one-drops are mostly playable rarely were their star rating drops due to their weak value. On the other hand, monsters like Mintstrosity and Scream Puff, have shown not only doing this job but also making it more interesting and consistent to be with them while playing the game.
Red
Torch the Tower: B+ → A
- Instant
- Bargain(It is you that gets to also spend enchantment, artifact, or token tokens of this creature while casting it)
- Torch the Tower deals 2 damage to a target non-land permanent, creature or planeswalker. But if this Spell was Joined instead, It does 3 Damage to that eternal and You scry 1.
- If the permanent attack for damage Torch the Tower would perish this turn, exile it instead.
Frantic Firebolt: C → B-
- Instant
- Frantic Firebolt will bring X card damage to the target creature, where X equals 2 plus immediate-effect cards, filtered-effect cards, and/or Adventure cards.
Redcap Thief: C- → B-
- Creature — Goblin Rogue
- Redcap Thief, when the creature enters the battlefield, creates a Treasure token. (It’s an artifact with “{T}, Sacrifice this artifact: Add “one mana of any color.”)
- 2/3
Grabby Giant: D+ → B-
- Creature — Giant
- Reach
- {2}{R}, Sacrifice an artifact or land: Draw a card.
- 4/3
- That’s Mine {1}{R}
- Instant — Adventure
- Create a Treasure token. (Then exile this card. You can then play the creature later from exile)
Embereth Veteran: B- → C
- Creature — Human Knight
- {1}, Sacrifice Embereth Veteran: Elude a Young Hero Token to another target creature. (In case you play the Mana of Ultimate Suzerain, you can place a +1/+1 counter on the enchanted creature. If this creature attacks and its toughness is 3 or less, put it into the graveyard. You also gain control over it.)
- 2/1
Even though the color red is the most dominant in Wilds of Eldraine, as the saying goes, “realization of reliability” remains the theme of this chapter. Cards such as Embereth Veteran may appear underwhelming because they have no big impacting the game nor their Hero ability is much useful.
Just like Grabby Giant, Redcap Thief offers a useful body that enables you to utilize strong cards like Gingerbread Hunter or obtain extra mana for a potentially stronger turn. My appreciation for Torch the Tower and Frantic Firebolt has increased as they are crucial for removing threats and are consistently reliable throughout the game.
Green
Hamlet Glutton: C- → B+
- Creature — Giant
- Bargain (This may include giving up an artifact or a token as you cast this spell.)
- The cost of the spell is reduced by {2} if it’s bargained for it.
- Trample
- When Hamlet Glutton enters the battlefield, three life are payable.
- 6/6
Hollow Scavenger: C- → B-
Tough Cookie: A- → A+
- Artifact Creature — Food Golem
- Whenever Tough Cookie joins the battle, you tap to generate a Food token. (It’s an artifact with “{2}, {T}, Sacrifice this artifact: You can gain 3 life points.)
- {2}{G}: Noncreature non-artifact you control becomes a 4/4 artifact creature until end of turn.
- {2}, {T}, Sacrifice Tough Cookie: +3 life Points you gain.
- 2/2
Stormkeld Vanguard: C+ → B+
- Creature — Giant Warrior
- Stormkeld Vanguard can’t be blocked by creatures with power 2 or less.
- 6/7
- Bear Down {1}{G}
- Sorcery — Adventure
- Destroying a target artifact or enchantment. (Exile this card hereafter. Later, you will be able to cast this creature from exile.)
Thunderous Debut: C → D-
- Sorcery
- Bargain (In this case, you’re able to trade any artifact, enchantment, or token you have for casting this spell.)
- Look at the top twenty cards in your library. You may indicate up to the 2 creature cards from your hand. If this card was bargained, place those cards which were revealed on the battlefield. The neglect of this step will result in mixing them up with your hand. Then shuffle.
The color Green has been quite unpredictable for me because many of its strong cards are only found at the uncommon rarity level, such as Tough Cookie and Stormkeld Vanguard, which have consistently proven to be top performers for me. As for the more common cards, both Hamlet Glutton and Hollow Scavenger have exceeded my expectations, serving as both valuable creatures and effective tools for building board presence. However, expensive cards like Thunderous Debut are not as effective in this particular setting.
Enchanting Tales
Utopia Sprawl: B → A+
- Enchantment — Aura
- Enchant Forest
- Utopia Sprawl is sacrificed on the battlefield, nevertheless, it gives you a color choice.
- Whenever you trigger Enchanted Forest through mana tapping, its controller will add up a single mana of that particular color of choice.
Stab Wound: D+ → A-
- Enchantment — Aura
- Enchant creature
- Enchanted creature gets -2/-2.
- At the beginning of the upkeep of the enchanted creature’s controller, that player loses 2 life.
Necropotence: C → A
- Enchantment
- Skip your draw step.
- Whenever you discard a card, exile that card from your graveyard.
- Pay 1 life: Enchantment: Exile the top card of your Library, face down. When it’s your next untap step, simply put that card in your hand.
Griffin Aerie: B+ → D+
- Enchantment
- Early in your end step, if you gained 3 or more life during that turn, develop a 2/2 white Griffin creature token with flying.
Season of Growth: B+ → C+
- Enchantment
- Whenever some creature enters combat under your dominion, scry 1. (Look at the top card on top of your library. You can place it on the last of your top library.)
- Whenever you cast a spell that targets your creature, you draw a card.
Intangible Virtue: C+ → D
- Enchantment
- The creature token you control gets +1/+1 and has vigilance.
Parallel Lives: B+ → D+
- Enchantment
- If an effect generates one or more tokens controlled by you, it generates double of those tokens than it would have normally created.
Forced Fruition: B → F
- Enchantment
- Each time an opponent casts a spell, the player draws seven cards.
Omniscience: C → F
- Enchantment
- Spells from your hand do not need to pay their mana costs.
Land Tax: A+ → C-
- Enchantment
- Initiated if your opponent has more lands than you, you may search your library for up to three basic land cards, reveal them, put them into your hand, and then shuffle.
The current bonus sheet has been a major letdown for me as I enjoy experimenting with unconventional and niche strategies in Limited. Popular cards like Griffin Aerie, Intangible Virtue, Forced Fruition, and Parallel Lives have been disappointing due to lack of support and the fast pace of the format hindering their effectiveness. On the contrary, Stab Wound, Necropotence, and Utopia Sprawl have received a significant boost in their ratings.
Adventure
Imodane’s Recruiter: B- → A+
- Creature — Human Knight
- Whenever a Recruiter from the Imodane is present on the field, creatures you control get +1/+0 and can attack your opponent until the end of the turn.
- 2/2
- Train Troops {4}{W}
- Sorcery — Adventure
- Create two 2/2 white Knight creature tokens with vigilance. (Cast the creature from exile. You can cast the creature later.)
Gingerbread Hunter: C+ → A-
- Creature — Giant
- When Gingerbread Hunter is on the field, make a Food token. (It’s an artifact with “{2}, {T}, Sacrifice this artifact: For an additional 4 mana (“Unleash!+” + 3 mana”), you gain 3 life.
- 5/5
- Puny Snack {2}{B}
- Instant — Adventure
- The target creature gets -2/-2 until the end of the turn. (The creature can be cast from exile later. First, you need to cast this card in exile.)
Frolicking Familiar: A → B
- Creature — Otter Wizard
- Flying
- Each time you play an instant or sorcery spell, Frolicking Familiar receives a +1/+1 enhancement until the end of the turn.
- 2/2
- Blow Off Steam {R}
- Instant — Adventure
- Blow Off Steam, deals 1 damage to any target. (After exiling it, place this card into the exile. You can cast and summon the creature from the exile later.)
Pollen-Shield Hare: A- → C+
- Creature — Rabbit
- Creature tokens you control get +1/+1.
- 2/2
- Hare Raising {G}
- Sorcery — Adventure
- Target the creature you control, and it will gain vigilance and gain +X/+X until end of turn, where X is the number of creatures you control.
Heartflame Duelist: A+ → B+
- Creature — Human Knight
- Instant and sorcery spells you control will have lifelink.
- 3/1
- Heartflame Slash {2}{R}
- Instant — Adventure
- Hardflame Slash deals 3 points of damage to any target. (Next, put this card on exile. You can cast the creature by later in the exile.)
In this format, Adventure cards play a crucial role and it is advisable to include as many strong ones as possible in your deck. Notably, Imodane’s Recruiter and Gingerbread Hunter stand out as exceptionally powerful, surpassing even most of the rare cards in the set. It is important to not become too fixated on maximizing their potential every time, as their true strength lies in their versatility to decide when to be greedy and when to hold back.
Multicolored
Troyan, Gutsy Explorer: C+ → D+
- Legendary Creature — Vedalken Scout
- {T}: Add {G}{U}. A strive to learn or study only those spells that cost 5 or more mana or spells that have been crafted with {X} in them.
- {U}, {T}: Draw a one, then disenfard a one.
- 1/3
Neva, Stalked by Nightmares: B+ → C
- Legendary Creature — Human Noble
- Menace
- Whenever Neva, Stalked by Nightmares hits the battlefield, you may pick up and return a target creature or enchantment card from the abyss to your grasp.
- Any time your enchantment is being exiled to a graveyard from the battlefield put a +1/+1 on Neva, then scry 1.
- 2/2
The Apprentice’s Folly: C+ → D+
- Enchantment — Saga
- (This saga enters and after the draw step, gains a lore counter; sacrifice it III after).
- “I, II — Choose one non-token creature with a different name from the token you control.” Build a copy that is both a Reflection, along an extra type created from a different legendary, which will also include haste.
- III — Sacrifice all the Reflections you control.
Yenna, Redtooth Regent: S → A
- Legendary Creature — Elf Noble
- {2}, {T}: Pick up one enchantment that you control beside the name, unlike the one permanent you control. Fashion is a plot of token that’s a duplication of the legendary but at the same time, we do not call it legendary. Attempt to cast the spell with a token Aura; proceed to untap the creature Yenna, Redtooth Regent; then scry 2. The power of D does not activate unless as a sorcery.
- 4/4
Eriette of the Charmed Apple: A+ → B
- Legendary Creature — Human Warlock
- Each enchanted creature with an Aura finds no possibility to attack You or the planeswalkers You control.
- At the beginning of each one of your opponent’s end steps, each opponent loses X life and you gain X life, where X is the number of Auras you control.
- 2/4
Artifacts
Hylda’s Crown of Winter: A+ → S
- Legendary Artifact
- {1}, {T}: Enchant the tapped creature. You can {1} cast this spell for {1} mana on your (your) turn.
- {3}, Sacrifice Hylda’s Crown of Winter: Draw a card for every opponent’s tapped creature.
The Irencrag: A+ → C+
- Legendary Artifact
- {T}: Add {C}.
- Every time a legendary creature reaches the battlefield through your control, you may turn the Irencrag artifact into equipment named Everflame, Heroes’ Legacy. If you do, it will go equipped {3}, +3/+3, and lose its other powers.
Prophetic Prism: C+ → B-
- Artifact
- Whenever Prophetic Prism appears on the plane during the skirmish, draw a card.
- {1}, {T}: Add one mana of any color.
